lovely hotel in Sarasota

We had a stop at the Hotel Indigo in Sarasota which is the most lovely decorated hotel i've stayed.

When walking through the old town I spotted some great galleries and took pictures of artworks in the window which include also palmtree images!!!(I like that :-)

In der Altstadt von Sarasota gibt es nette Galerien und Buchgeschäfte. Als Mitteleuropäerin war ich sehr fasziniert von den Spiegelungen der Palmen im Schaufenster.

I liked this front of the shop:

They do have an Opera House, though small but cute I think :-)

Es gibt sogar ein Opern Haus, allerdings finden die größeren Veranstaltungen in der Van Wezel Hall statt.

 We were surrounded by a dream of blue, very blue sky, very blue water. This blue color of the sky and the water was of such an intense nature that I had the feeling as if it was penetrating my body.

Das intensive blau des Himmels und des Meeres hat uns 2 Wochen lang umgeben. Man hatte fast das Gefühl von diesem blau durchdrungen zu sein.

Joy of decorating

This year I have started with the holiday decoration much earlier than usual because I will go to Florida for vacation during the winter holidays. I'm so much looking forward to that!

Ich habe heuer schon früher zu dekorieren begonnen, da ich Weihnachten und Neujahr in Florida verbringen werde. yippieeee!

Seasonal decoration

I was thinking about this years Christmas decoration when I decided to continue with my Trompe l'oeil painting in my living room. 

Die vorweihnachtliche Stimmung hat mich inspiriert um endlich an meinem Wandbild weiter zu arbeiten.

for years I had it in that state. I started this project because I wanted to see wether one could live with such a mural for more than one year.  Now I can say that I still love it and it is worth putting the effort into something you really love.

Ich habe schon vor Jahren mit diesem Wandbild begonnen und wollte sehen, ob man mit so einem Bild länger als 1 Jahr glücklich ist. Ich habe es jetzt bestimmt mehr als 3 Jahre und es ist mir immer noch nicht  langweilig. Es hebt tatsächlich das Raumgefühl, da es die Begrenzung "Wand" aufbricht.
